A couple of years ago, Turnberry Place, which was the first luxury high-rise condo built near the Strip, was symbolically replaced as the dominant high-rise development in the Resort Corridor. Towers like Majestic, Icon, and Las Ramblas were going to be bigger and better. Elvis would have turned 73 this past January. Many fans commemorated his birthday by laying flowers around his bronze statue at the Las Vegas Hilton. It was here (formerly the International Hotel and Casino), that Elvis sold out over 800 consecutive shows in the 1970’s. The Sahara hotel and casino located on the north end of the booming Las Vegas strip and adjacent to a small cluster of Luxury high-rise condominiums, was purchased this year.
