First glass getting installed on The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences at MGM MIRAGE CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip

With construction crews from the Perini Building Company working feverishly, the first glass has been installed on The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences at MGM MIRAGE CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip. This in addition to glass also now being installed on Veer Towers. This blog will be the first in a series outlining the latest construction strides taking place at MGM MIRAGE’s $8.4 billion eco-friendly mega-resort.Would it get reported if the three lowest price-per-square-foot sales in Las Vegas history happened? Then why didn’t the top three get reported?

You can’t blame the national press for continuing to search for bad stories about the Las Vegas real estate market. Think about, everyone knows that the United States is going through a challenged economy, an election year, and a nationwide real estate and mortgage liquidity meltdown. Then you have Las Vegas real estate agents (including myself) saying that there is more to the story…and there is. The problem, however, is that over the past two years, negative stories have taken precedence. It’s just a fact of life that we all have to accept and get used to…the hot story is on negativity.Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino named largest LEED-certified project in the world. Will the Palazzo Luxury Condos be “green” like condominium properties at CityCenter?

Recently, it was announced that Sands Corp.’s Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino on the Las Vegas Strip had been awarded Silver LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. According to GlobeSt.com, the USGBC named the approx. 3,000 room, multi-billion-dollar resort, the largest LEED-certified building in the world (saying it was four times larger than any other “green” project in the world). The national press is searching for horror stories about the Las Vegas high-rise luxury condo market. Recently, I received a call from a journalist looking for information on how horrible it had become to live in high-rise condominium properties such as Panorama Towers and Turnberry Towers. The journalist wanted to talk to owners who were going through foreclosures, seeking stories about how their quality of living has been impacted, trying to see if the buildings amenities had been compromised. Construction Update: Very nice looking grey and yellow colored glass is starting to be installed on Veer Towers, two leaning luxury high-rise condominium towers on the Las Vegas Strip. Veer Towers consists of approx. 674 residential condos, divided up into two separate buildings. The success of MGM MIRAGE CityCenter (an $8.4 billion development) is good news for the local Las Vegas real estate market. While the media refuses to tell few positive stories happening in Las Vegas (especially on the Strip), CityCenter has set several records and has sold over $1.6 billion in real estate in just over a years time.
