According to the Wall Street Journal, Related Cos. has partnered with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide’s W Hotel group to bid on the Cosmopolitan Resort Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Last week and this weekend provided more doom and gloom for the current US economy and Las Vegas. While most people are no longer surprised by bad news, all of this was still fairly hard to swallow. Rumors began to circulate the minute the news broke about Deutsche Bank starting the foreclosure process on Cosmopolitan Resort Casino. It seems some real estate agents in Nevada like to jump to the conclusion that MGM MIRAGE would automatically take over this property and make it part of CityCenter.
