Just as most experts agreed, the cost to build luxury condominiums on the Las Vegas Strip would have to increase because of land prices and construction costs, putting that much more emphasis on prime-location properties. Case and point? With construction crews from the Perini Building Company working feverishly, the first glass has been installed on The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences at MGM MIRAGE CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip. This in addition to glass also now being installed on Veer Towers. Construction Update: Very nice looking grey and yellow colored glass is starting to be installed on Veer Towers, two leaning luxury high-rise condominium towers on the Las Vegas Strip. Veer Towers consists of approx. 674 residential condos, divided up into two separate buildings. The success of MGM MIRAGE CityCenter (an $8.4 billion development) is good news for the local Las Vegas real estate market. While the media refuses to tell few positive stories happening in Las Vegas (especially on the Strip), CityCenter has set several records and has sold over $1.6 billion in real estate in just over a years time. Some say that the Fontainebleau Resort in Las Vegas is expected to generate two thirds of its revenue through avenues other than gaming. Dining, entertainment, nightclubs and more will play a key role. This is good news for the Strip and shows that “Sin City” is maturing into a global destination.Since Wynn did the north end of the Strip go high-end?

3 major announcements regarding green construction and practices have hit full force in Nevada recently. MGM MIRAGE CityCenter going after LEED certification from the U.S. Green Council…completed construction of the world’s third largest solar array…and now a 30-story high rise farm that would be used to grow different kinds of fruit and vegetables for the local casinos?
