With construction crews from the Perini Building Company working feverishly, the first glass has been installed on The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences at MGM MIRAGE CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip. This in addition to glass also now being installed on Veer Towers. This blog will be the first in a series outlining the latest construction strides taking place at MGM MIRAGE’s $8.4 billion eco-friendly mega-resort.Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino named largest LEED-certified project in the world. Recently, it was announced that Sands Corp.’s Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino on the Las Vegas Strip had been awarded Silver LEED Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. According to GlobeSt.com, the USGBC named the approx. 3,000 room, multi-billion-dollar resort, the largest LEED-certified building in the world (saying it was four times larger than any other “green” project in the world). In a confident move based on several factors, MGM MIRAGE raised prices 3% at CityCenter (across the board), on March 1st, 2008. While penthouse pricing wasn’t affected, all other condominium units at Veer Towers, Mandarin Oriental, Vdara Condo Hotel, and The Harmon Residences experienced the price increase. As the U.S. media continues to spread doom and gloom, several recent successes on the Las Vegas Strip cannot be denied.Luxury Realty Group and Celebrity high-rise agent Aaron Auxier set three new Las Vegas pricing records.

MGM MIRAGE’s The Harmon Hotel, Spa & Residences is a unique project with only 207 units and Las Vegas’ first MR CHOW restaurant. Managed by Andrew Sasson’s The Light Group, The Harmon appeals to Hollywood’s elite. But what other project was Mr. Sasson involved in that offered a penthouse with rounded glass and views of the Las Vegas Strip? Panorama Towers.
