Arizona has once again suffered a blistering cross-state defeat to those pesky players from Nevada. In a bitter desert rivarly lasting 20 years, Arizona has taken “Fastest Growing State in the Nation” honors once. 19-1…This was no barn burner, this was nearly a shut out.
To put the game into perspective, if we were counting touchdowns, the final score would be 133-7. Sounds like the kind of odds that the sports books on the Las Vegas Strip would want you to bet on.
Nevada’s Secret Weapon
While some teams have a Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Eli Manning, or Michael Strahan; Nevada’s secret weapon is simple. Gaming and the Las Vegas Strip.
As of February 2008, there is roughly $30 billion of new mega resorts under construction in the “Resort Corridor” (see breakdown). Deutsche Bank has forecast that 100,000 new jobs will be created in Clark County over the next four years. International wealth is using the weak dollar to buy up Strip property while those seeking solid employment are coming from all over the United States.
While the Las Vegas single family home market is slow and loaded with foreclosures just like Arizona, Vegas has the Strip and big job growth over the next four years.
